Arrival in Ingersheim — Welcome to the Wine Route

Kaysersberg , Riquewihr , la Route des vins, le Naturoparc, Cave viticole

A morning in Kaysersberg — voted France's favourite village in 2017 and the birthplace of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Albert Schweitzer — with its cobbled streets, richly decorated half-timbered houses and fortified bridge. Then on to Riquewihr, the pearl of the Alsatian vineyards, with its medieval townscape virtually unchanged over centuries.

Lunch

After lunch, visit Hunawihr with its fortified church, then the Naturoparc — established in 1976, a wonderful opportunity to encounter storks, the emblem of Alsace, in their natural environment. The day ends at a Wine Route cellar, with a tasting of the region's finest vintages.

Strasbourg & Obernai

Strasbourg's Petite France quarter — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — is one of the most enchanting historic neighbourhoods in Europe. Explore on foot or take a guided boat trip along the River Ill (optional supplement).

then on to Obernai, a superbly preserved medieval town with a picturesque belfry, ramparts and a townscape that embodies the very essence of Alsace. Obernai is also the birthplace of Saint Odile, the patron saint of the region.
