Ideas for a 3-day, 2-night break focusing on shopping and fine dining
- Day 1 – Andorra
- Head straight to Canillo for a guided tour of the Sanctuary of Meritxell. Continue to Os de Civis, a village situated on Spanish territory and accessible only via Andorra. Tasting of local specialities: mountain charcuterie, cheeses, nougat, liqueurs…
- Lunch in a traditional mountain restaurant: country-style soup, cold cuts, raw vegetables, wood-fired grilled meats, cheese, dessert…
- Onwards to Andorra la Vella, with free time for shopping.
- Dinner and accommodation in a 4-star hotel in the city centre.
- Day 2 – Nailloux, a festive lunch
- Arrival at L’Auberge du Pastel for a festive lunch: Lauragaise salad (gizzards, homemade foie gras), cassoulet with duck confit and Toulouse sausage, a selection of Pyrenean cheeses, Norwegian omelette. From 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm “Let yourself be whisked away on a journey into the world of Cabaret Music Hall”.
- Dinner: Cream of pumpkin soup with fried onions, chestnuts and fried ham; roast pork; fresh pasta; mustard cream sauce; crème caramel.
- Accommodation at the hotel.
- Day 3 – The Naurouze and Avignonnet Lauragais threshold
- The Naurouze Weir, a must-see site on the Canal du Midi: the highest point and the true centrepiece of Pierre-Paul Riquet’s masterpiece. Then Avignonet Lauragais, a major centre of Cathar heritage: a fortified church and a medieval belfry. An exceptional panoramic view over the hills of the Lauragais.
- On the return journey, a duck-themed cookery workshop: enjoy the meal and then take a little taste of the region home with you by popping into our shop. Lunch: Shepherd’s salad, roast Lauragais chicken, baked potatoes and mixed vegetables, thyme jus, chocolate profiteroles.
