Ideas for a 5-day / 4-night walking holiday
- Day 1Arrival for lunch, settling into our rooms, a welcome drink. Afternoon: a walk along the shores of Lake Montriond to the Ardent waterfall.
- Day 2Hike to the Col de Cou and the Col de Brétolet. Stunning 360° views of the Swiss and French mountains, a major hub for bird migration, steeped in the history of Franco-Swiss poaching, and a bustling mountain pasture. On the way back, a barbecue lunch at Chardonière. Return to Morzine, then relax by the hotel swimming pool.
- Day 3Hike to Col Floret, Lac de Darbon, Col Pavy and Col de Bise, with a packed picnic Nestled in the heart of the Chablais region, between the Darbon and Bise mountain pastures, lies Lac de Darbon with its magical setting. An authentic walk during which you’ll often spot ibex.
- Day 4Chalet de Sales, a stop for a drink with a packed picnic Almost the entire walk takes place within France’s largest nature reserve (9,200 ha), where you can admire magnificent waterfalls, unspoilt flora and fauna, and mountain pastures dotted with traditional chalets… You’re sure to spot marmots and ibex along the way.
